Proto:Windows 2000

From Misc Data Digs

This page details one or more prototype versions of Windows 2000

Build 1592 (July 1997)[edit | edit source]

Win2000Build1592-bigfoot.png

BIGFOOT.BMP is present here, but with transparency added.

Win2000Build1592-winnt256.png

WINNT.BMP and WINNT256.BMP contain this edit of the boot-up logo, containing Feathers McGraw from "Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers" saying "It's Arbiterrific!" (a pun on "It's a bit horrific" and a reference to the developers involved in this edit doing work on arbiter traffic)

Build 1671 (September 1997)[edit | edit source]

File:WinNT5Beta1-logon.ogg

A completely different jingle, composed by Matthew Felton.

The logo-off jingle is the same as in Windows NT 4.0.

Build 2000 (March 1999)[edit | edit source]

File:WinNT5Beta3Build2000-logon.ogg File:WinNT5Beta3Build2000-logoff.ogg

Early versions of the jingles used for logging on and off.
